Our daughter Brittney Rachelle was born June 14th, 2001 in Greeley, Colorado.  She was our second of two daughters.  We were all so excited!  Especially big sister Brianne!  Brittney was born with her right arm not being fully developed past the elbow.  This was unexpected for us.  Our family and friends were great support to us.

Brittney is a beautiful, fun loving, strong willed child.  She amazes us every day with everything she does.  Nothing has held her back from anything that she wants to do.  When Brittney was about 2 1/2 years old, she asked how come everyone else had two hands and she had only one.  This was a question that I knew would one day be asked, but was hard to answer.  She was really down about it for a couple of weeks.  During this time, we decided that even though our family and friends' support had been wonderful, we needed more.  We found Colorado Unlimbited Children.  We love being part of the group.  It's been great to get to know other families that can relate to our family. Brittney still has her good and bad moments about not having two hands, but now that we are part of Colorado Unlimbited, we can talk about her new friends who were born just like her.
